I have been with Ravenswood Fitness Center since it began as a gentle style, Hatha yoga instructor. Currently teaching 4 times a week.
I have always been into fitness; running, swimming, biking.....I also have a second degree black belt in karate.
I came into yoga as a desire to find something that held an Eastern philosophy of mind and body connection, but with a gentler mindset than karate. I have been practicing yoga for 20 years now and firmly believe that an awareness of ones body, being gentle with challenging yourself is more productive than a "no pain, no gain" approach.
As far as nutrition goes, I am a vegetarian and believe in eating foods that are "unaltered" and as natural as you can find them. I love juicing raw fruits and vegetables and water is the best thing for your body......most of us don't drink enough water!
When confronted with an obstacle in life, I always remember that life is about balance; ups and downs are part of life, and understanding the connection between our minds and bodies, treating them both with appreciation and gratitude , will take us further in life!
